Where brokers and underwriting agencies do business, on shared standards.

The Cuttleflow Marketplace connects brokers with underwriting markets. Cuttleflow Go is how an agency puts its products into it. Brokers and underwriters advise, quote and bind under their own licences; Cuttleflow provides the system they do it on.

I’m a broker

Win clients. Reach more markets. Place more business.

Win new clients through your own channels and the public marketplace, submit once to every market that wants the risk, and compare quotes side by side to advise your client. Placing is free.

I run an underwriting agency

Launch, distribute and grow a product.

Put a product into market on shared standards with Cuttleflow Go, reach brokers through the Marketplace, and receive complete, rules-matched submissions with the workflow to write them.

The Cuttleflow network

Each side makes the network more useful to the other.

Underwriting agencies build products once with Cuttleflow Go. Brokers win clients and place them on the Cuttleflow Marketplace. Every agency or broker that joins adds value for the other side.

Stage 1 of 4

More underwriting markets

Agencies put products into market with Cuttleflow Go, built on shared standards with their own rates, rules, authority and cover options. Each Cuttleflow Go agency is a ready market for its class.

For brokers

Stage 2 of 4

More choice, easy to compare

Quotes from different agencies are presented so a broker can compare them easily and advise the client. Agencies can still differentiate their cover.

For brokers

Quotes laid out side by side, ready to compare and advise on.

For underwriting agencies

Stand out on cover, price and appetite.

Distribution, qualified submissions and the workflow to write them

  1. Choose a class on the Commons wording and question set.
  2. Load your rates, rules and authority, and test them on sample risks.
  3. Quote your own brokers, and Marketplace brokers when your class opens.

The Marketplace opens class by class

Each class opens when it has enough markets and brokers to work.

A class opens when enough underwriting markets have committed, brokers with business in the class have committed renewals, the questions and wording are frozen and signed off, and licensing advice has been applied. Until then, it runs in the demo on fictional data.

“I built a Lloyd’s coverholder in Australia from nothing to $100m GWP in a little over three years. The hardest part was not the underwriting — it was the year of building products, operations and compliance before we could write a policy. Cuttleflow is the system I wish I had been able to switch on from day one.”
