Pricing
We build the platform once. You pay for what you use.
Underwriting agencies pay for their product and its workflow through Cuttleflow Go, and separately for distribution through the Cuttleflow Marketplace once a class opens. Brokers place for free. Each charge says what it buys.
Cuttleflow Go · the four levels
So you want to differentiate? Here’s how.
Appetite, price, rules, limits, terms, your name and your service are yours on the standard, with no build. The base wording and question set stay standard, because that is what makes your quote comparable on the Cuttleflow Marketplace, and comparable quotes are the ones brokers bind. Choose how far from the standard you need to be.

A fully comparable quote. You are a Cuttleflow Marketplace participant.
Wording, question set, rater framework, quote schedule and policy schedule.
Rates, rules, authority, appetite by industry, limits, sub-limits and excess options, extensions on or off, product name, logo, cover and back pages (PDF), market profile.
Retail classes use Cuttleflow’s drafted PDS and TMD and need the relevant AFSL.

Optional half-day terms workshop $1,500 GO-L2-WKS

As Level 1.
As Level 1, plus up to 10 endorsements and up to 10 questions of your own per product, each question with a reason brokers see; optional Commons extensions; cover grades where the class publishes them.
Endorsements add or remove cover against a named standard clause; they do not rewrite it. Your questions add to the standard set; they do not replace a standard question.
Level 3 · Your wording: details
$5,000 onboarding per product GO-L3-ONB
Coverage map $2,500 per wording, optional GO-L3-MAP
1.5% of GWP, $500 a month minimum GO-L3-MIN

A comparable quote once the coverage map is in place; without it, your quote is shown as “own wording” beside the comparable ones. You are a Cuttleflow Marketplace participant.
Question set (plus your own questions as at Level 2), quote schedule, policy input sheet, rater framework.
Wording, policy schedule from your template, and your rating: your rates on the Cuttleflow Go rater, a grade B structure configured on it, or your own engine by email-back, Finity FinRater or another API.
Wording in Word or PDF with numbered clauses. Legal review of your wording and the coverage map is yours. Later wording versions $750 each. Grade C rating runs only as your own engine by API.
Level 4 · Your product: details

Build quoted after discovery, typically $30,000 to $75,000 GO-L4-BLD
2.0% of GWP, $1,000 a month minimum GO-L4-GWP
Two to four months after discovery.
A guest underwriter’s quote, not compared side by side with the standard quotes. A question map ($2,500) and a coverage map ($2,500) bring it into the comparison.
The platform, workflow, bordereaux, reporting and the record.
Everything about the product.
Why 2.0%: your product needs its own regression test pack, run and fixes on every platform release, for as long as it is live. Discovery produces a fixed-scope specification and a fixed build quote; work outside it is a change request. You supply the PDS and TMD for retail classes.
Guest underwriter
A guest underwriter is invited by a broker to quote one risk, by link, and sees only that risk. A Cuttleflow Marketplace participant is listed for every risk that meets its appetite, from every broker on the platform.
A participant can also let its indicative price, firm quote or automatic bind run wherever brokers find clients: industry pages, website forms, the Cuttleflow app, AI assistants and MCP connectors in other software. A guest has no indicative pricing, because it does not have the rating and pricing set-up of Levels 1 to 3, so it is in none of these. A participant sees much more deal flow than a guest.
A Level 4 product is a guest until its question map and coverage map are in place. Levels 1 to 3 are participants. Compare guest and participant
A standard product is cheaper to build and run because every part is already connected: the questions feed the rater, the rater feeds the documents, the policy feeds the bordereau and the Cuttleflow Marketplace.
Change one part and the others change with it. A new question or a new rater structure has to reach every part, then be tested against everything that reads from it. Your own rates, rules, appetite, limits, endorsements, cover pages and branding have no flow-on effects, which is why they are included.
Every platform release is tested against every live product. A standard class is tested once for all its markets. A bespoke product needs its own test pack, run and fixes on every release, for as long as it is live. That is why Level 4 carries a higher percentage and a higher minimum.

Guest underwriter or Cuttleflow Marketplace participant
| Guest underwriter | Cuttleflow Marketplace participant | |
|---|---|---|
| How risks reach you | Only when a broker invites you to quote one placement, by link | Automatically: every submission inside your appetite rules and limits, from every broker, plus any a broker sends you by name |
| What you see | That one risk, until it is bound or closed | Your full queue: new, referred, quoted, bound and declined |
| Leads from the public Cuttleflow Marketplace | Only if the broker invites you after the lead arrives | Leads become placements that reach your queue when they meet your appetite |
| Your price in front of clients | None. Guests have no indicative pricing: they do not have the rating and pricing set-up of Levels 1 to 3 | Your indicative price, if you switch it on, in broker industry pages, proposal forms with a live price, website forms, partner links, the public Cuttleflow Marketplace, the Cuttleflow app and MCP connectors for AI assistants |
| Brokers price and bind without asking you | No | Your choice for each class: off, indicative price, firm quote, or quote and bind under your rules |
| Listed in the directory read by search engines and AI assistants | No | Your published appetite, if you switch it on (never your rates) |
| Your quote | On the Cuttleflow quote template; marked not directly comparable when on your own wording | On the standard quote schedule, side by side with the other quotes |
| Bind | The broker sends a placing slip; you sign it on the platform and issue your documents | Bound on the platform; policy schedule issued |
| Account and tools | None: one link per placement | Inbox for emailed and Cuttleflow Marketplace submissions, worksheet, rater, rate sheets, appetite rules, the Cuttleflow app |

| The standard | No part in it | Comment on the standard and give an intention to quote |
| Condition | Guests that routinely place off the platform after quoting can be suspended from receiving risks | The commitments you give when you join |
A guest can become a participant. Joining with Cuttleflow Go starts from the guest quote, and automatic matching, binding on the platform and statistics switch on when you join.
Rating: where it runs and how complex it is
Your rates are always yours and always free: rate tables, loadings, discounts and minimum premiums are settings. What costs money is the structure of the rater and where it runs, because structure causes flow-on work and regression testing.
Where the rating runs
| Route | What it is | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Cuttleflow Go rater | Your rates as settings on the class rater | Included at every level |
| Email-back | You rate in your own system; the premium is entered or emailed back onto the standard quote schedule | Included at Level 3 |
| Finity FinRater API | Cuttleflow sends the rating inputs; FinRater returns the premium | Included at Levels 3 and 4 |
| Another external rating API | Your own or a third-party engine with a documented REST/JSON interface that returns a premium per section | $7,500 fixed to connect and test GO-RT-API. Other interfaces (SOAP, file exchange, callbacks, bespoke authentication) are scoped in a half-day session ($1,500), then quoted. Re-test after a change at the engine’s end $750 |
How complex the rater is
| Grade | What the rater does | Level 3 | Level 4 | Test pack, every release |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A · Table rating | One rating base per section (turnover, fee income, sum insured, headcount, vehicles) × rate and factor tables × minimum premium. Up to 12 factors, no logic between them | Included on any route | Included in the build | 25 sample risks |
| B · Structured | Several sections with different bases; factors switched on or off by answers; increased-limit factors and deductible curves; package discounts; book rate blended with experience. 13 to 30 factors, some if/then logic | Own engine included; configured on the Cuttleflow Go rater $5,000 GO-RT-B | Adds $10,000 GO-L4-RB | 50 sample risks |
| C · Complex | Schedules (property, fleet, locations); loss or experience rating; external data in the calculation; actuarial model outputs. More than 30 factors, or any schedule, external data or experience rating | Own engine by API only | Adds $25,000 to $45,000, quoted after discovery GO-L4-RC | 100 or more sample risks |
Grade A is what every Level 1 and 2 product is. The test pack is the regression cost made visible: sample risks, with expected premiums you supply, that must still price correctly on every platform release.
Book import
Your existing book comes onto Cuttleflow through the Book Importer: a file-based, audited batch load from your previous system’s export. It maps your columns to the standard fields, checks every row against your closing totals and commits only rows that pass. Your data steward confirms the staging report and your named underwriter authorises the batch. AI proposes mappings and extracts missing values; it never commits anything. Imported premiums and terms are recorded as they were, never recomputed.
You do the testing and reconciliation; staging is free to repeat and every queried row says why. These fees price only Cuttleflow’s work.
| Variation | What it covers | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Standard import | Your export in a standard bordereau layout (Lloyd’s CRS columns) or a format already in the library; parties, policy shells and current terms loaded for renewal | Included |
| Sample run | We stage your first 100 rows and give you the report, so both sides see the query rate first | Included |
| New source format | An export layout not mapped before; once built, free for everyone after you | $1,500 per format GO-IMP-FMT |
| Full reporting cutover | Imported terms report on the Cuttleflow bordereau from an agreed date; needs the full field set and the managing agent’s written agreement | Included where you reconcile; our help $1,500 per half day |
| Data enrichment | Filling what your export lacks: ABN checks, industry codes, addresses, legacy limits and endorsements, dates from policy documents. You accept each value | $2.50 per policy row, minimum $1,000 GO-IMP-ENR. Vendor data at cost |
| We do it for you | Cuttleflow staff stage, resolve queries and reconcile on your behalf | $3,000 per day, quoted after the sample run |
Third-party, pass-through and usage costs
The connection to a standard vendor is included. What the vendor charges, you pay: direct to the vendor, or at cost with no margin, invoiced monthly. Cuttleflow does not mark up third-party fees.

Conditions
All levels
- Fees in Australian dollars, excluding GST. GWP is base premium, excluding GST, stamp duty, levies and broker fees, on new business, renewals and endorsements.
- You quote and bind under your own AFSL or authorisation and your own binding authority. Cuttleflow is software.
- Retail classes at Levels 1 and 2 use Cuttleflow’s drafted PDS and TMD; at Levels 3 and 4 you supply your own. The Commons wordings are working drafts, subject to legal review.
- Published pricing may change at any time. A signed letter of intent holds this rate card for 60 days. A signed order holds it for the contract term, with 60 days’ notice of any change at renewal.
Cover and back pages (Levels 1 and 2)
- PDF, A4, one cover and one back page per product, uploaded when you onboard and replaceable at any time at no charge. The Commons wording sits between them unchanged, with its title and version reference on the inside page.
Own wording (Level 3)
- Onboarding covers one wording, one policy schedule template and one rating route. A second schedule template or variant $1,500. Later wording versions $750 each.
- Without a coverage map your quote appears beside the comparable quotes, marked “own wording”. It is never hidden and never ranked below other participants.
Own product (Level 4)
- Discovery produces a fixed-scope specification and a fixed build quote. Work outside the specification is a change request, quoted before it starts.
- The product is a guest underwriter on the Cuttleflow Marketplace until its question map and coverage map are in place.
Proposing a change to the standard
Need something the standard does not cover? Any Cuttleflow client can propose a change through the published Commons change process. Every proposal gets a response within 30 days. Accepted changes that are not urgent go into the wording upgrade cycle, every 12 months, applied once for every market on the wording, with notice. Urgent defects are fixed as soon as practicable. An endorsement or question adopted by two or more markets is proposed for the standard, open and credited to its contributor. The Commons

Free during the Beta testing period
After Beta, a separate charge for distribution, set and published before each class opens, with at least 60 days’ notice. It covers access to the brokers in the class; the Cuttleflow Go fee covers your product and its workflow.
Placing is free
Your own acquisition channels are free during the beta. Public marketplace leads: a flat monthly fee per industry when they open, not tied to leads received or policies bound. At least 30 days’ notice before any charge.
Nothing to pay
Businesses pay nothing to use the public marketplace, and a broker’s subscription does not change the premium they pay.
All prices in Australian dollars, excluding GST, and subject to the online terms. Add-ons such as cash reconciliation and further bordereaux are priced separately.
Why we price this way
Platform, not product
One platform, not a product per client
One rating engine, shared standards for each class, one workflow. A new Cuttleflow Go product is settings, so there is no build project to charge for.
The fee follows your premium
You pay more when you write more, and little while the book is small. The minimum covers the cost of running a live product.
Two charges, two things
Cuttleflow Go pays for your product and its workflow. The Cuttleflow Cuttleflow Marketplace charge pays for distribution, and only once your class is open.
Brokers bring the deal flow
Placing is free, so more brokers place on the standard and more submissions reach the agencies who pay.
Your own product
Your own wording, rater or schedule
Your own wording, rater or schedule starts with a fixed-fee discovery session. It tells you whether your product fits Cuttleflow Go or needs a separate build on the full platform, and what that would cost.
Questions
Will I pay twice?
No. The Cuttleflow Go fee covers your product and its workflow. The Marketplace charge, when it starts, covers distribution to the brokers in an open class. Each is published separately.
Am I locked in?
You accept our online terms when you apply, and we give at least 60 days’ notice of any change to our fees. You can take your data out in ordinary file formats at any time.
Can I use Cuttleflow Go for retail products?
Yes, with Cuttleflow’s drafted PDS and TMD and the relevant AFSL, at the standard price.
What about the full platform?
Agencies running their own wordings and raters on the full platform pay a subscription priced by the size of the book. The platform →
